What is Nutella?

Nutella is a Chocolate Hazelnut spread. It is a smooth, creamy spread used widely as a topping on bread, as a dip, in sandwiches or paired with fruits.

If you follow my blog, you know that we love simple desserts and we love to use nutella in baking. We have few nutella recipes which use just 3 ingredients to make- like this nutella cake, nutella brownies and nutella mini cupcakes.

How to make Easy Nutella Cookies (step by step pics)-

Step 1- In to a bowl add 1 large egg, a cup of nutella and ¾ cup all purpose flour.

flour, nutella and egg added to a glass bowl

Step 2- Using a spoon or a spatula mix all these ingredients. After you mix check for the consistency of the dough. This is the key to making chewy cookies. When you hold a portion of the dough, it should not stick to your hands. The dough should not be dry, nor super wet. When you take the dough you can easily make a ball between your palms.

If you feel the dough is dry add a teaspoon of nutella at a time to get the right texture. But if the dough is wet add about ½ tsp of flour at a time to fix it.

Step 3- Take about 2 tbps of the dough, make a ball and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Gently press the ball to flatten a little, do not press too much.

Step 4- Bake the cookies at 350 F pre heated oven for 9-11 minutes. It took us 11 minutes to bake. The cookies will be very soft and may look little underdone. Set a side for 15 minutes and they will firm up. Do not over bake, if not the cookies will become dry when cooled.

Does the egg need to be in room temperature?

No, you can use the egg right out of the refrigerator.

What else can I make with Nutella?

You can make cake, brownies, cupcakes, stuffed ravioli, dip them in strawberries to name few.

Storing the cookies:

Nutella Cookies stays fresh up to 3 days in a air tight container. You can also store them in the refrigerator for a week. Just microwave for 10 seconds before eating.
