With Christmas around the corner, I have been wanting to share these sugar cookies recipe, that I know you will love. The best part about this cookie recipe is you don’t have to be very precise with the ingredients.

Holidays are such a wonderful time to get in the kitchen and do some baking. Some of the desserts I love making during Christmas time are Chocolate Cake, Mini Cheese Cakes and Banana Bread.

Just keep in mind that these are not sugar cut cookies, these are too delicate to cut.

  • stays soft and fresh for several days

4- Add the egg and vanilla and whisk until just combined. ( In the picture you may see that I added the vanilla with flour, I did that because i forgot to add it with the egg)

5- Add the flour and whisk until well combined. When you whisk initially the mixture may look crumbly but will come together soon. When the dough comes together, use a spatula to give a final mix. .

Tips to make the Best Sugar Cookies-

  • Use softened butter, not the melted butter in the recipe. Softened butter combined with sugar will make it creamy and make the cookies moist.
  • Make sure the baking powder is not too old.
  • Do not over mix the cookie dough. After you add the flour, just mix them untill well combined.
  • Do not over bake the cookies, if not you will end up with a hard cookie when they cool.
  • Remove the cookies from the baking tray not more than 4 -5 minutes after they come out of the oven.
  • Line a parchment paper to avoid the cookies form sticking or getting brown in the bottom.

How do you know when the sugar cookie is done?

When you see that the cookies just start to get a hint of color, that is the perfect time to remove them from the oven.

How do you fix crumbly sugar cookie dough?

If your cookie dough is crumbly, add ½ teaspoon of liquid ( it can be either egg, water or milk). Start with just half teaspoon and add more if needed. Do not over mix the dough.

How do I make sure my cookies are soft?

Store the cookies in a air tight container. You can also add a piece of bread in the cookie jar, the bread will turn hard and keep the cookies soft.

Can I freeze the cookie dough?

Roll the cookie dough into balls and place them in a freezer ziploc bag or in air tight container in one layer. To bake, place the frozen dough balls on aparchment paper and bake for 13-15 minutes.
