Hemp Seeds Ladoo – nutritious and healthy ladoo made with hemp seeds and jaggery. These ladoo are easy to make and are free of refined sugar.

I love making ladoo with whole some ingredients which are nutritious and which satisfy my sweet tooth.

Some of my favorite nutritious ladoo are Flax Seed Ladoo, Wheat Flour & Nuts Ladoo, Almond Flour Ladoo and Carrot Ladoo.

My new favorite ladoo to include in this list is Hemp Seeds Ladoo. Hemp Seeds are power house of nutrients with many health benefits. The nutty taste of hemp seeds combined with almond flour and iron rich jaggery makes for a very tasty ladoo.

How to make Hemp Seeds Laddu?

1- In low-medium flame, dry roast the hemp seeds in a pan for 7-10 minutes. They should very lightly change in color. Do not make them brown. Let them cool completely.

2- Heat the ghee and fry the cashew till light golden.

3 – Transfer the cooled hemp seeds to a blender. Add the cardamom pods and pulse the mixture few times till the hemp seeds become powder. The mixture doesn’t have to be super fine. Also do not blend at one stretch, if not hemp seeds will release oil.

4 – Transfer the ground hemp seeds to a bowl.

5 – Add the almond flour and powdered jaggery. Mix it well. Taste and check for sweetness and add accordingly.

6 – Add the fried cashew with the ghee.

7 – Incorporate the ghee in to the mixture. You should be mostly able to make a ladoo with it.

8 – To bind it well, I added about a teaspoon of almond butter to the mixture.

9 & 10 – Take a small portion of the mixture, and make a round shaped ladoo. I got 9 ladoo with these measurements.

What can I replace hemp seeds with?

Flax seeds and Sesame seeds.

What can I replace almond flour with?

Powdered cashew.

They stay fresh for one week.

Don’t have almond butter?

Add little more ghee as required.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup hemp seeds
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • ½ cup + 2 tbsp powdered jaggery adjust according to taste
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 3 teaspoon ghee
  • 1 tablespoon cashew pieces
  • 1- 2 teaspoon almond butter

  • Transfer the cooled hemp seeds to a blender. Add the cardamom pods and pulse the mixture few times till the hemp seeds become powder. The mixture doesn’t have to be super fine, it can be slightly coarse. Also do not blend at one stretch, if not hemp seeds will release oil.
  • Transfer the ground hemp seeds to a bowl. Add the almond flour and powdered jaggery. Mix it well. Taste and check for sweetness and add accordingly.
  •  Add the fried cashew with the ghee. Incorporate the ghee in to the mixture. You should be mostly able to make a ladoo with it.
  • To bind it well, I added about a teaspoon of almond butter to the mixture. ( If you don't have almond butter add little more melted ghee)
  • Take a small portion of the mixture, and make a round shaped ladoo.

Notes

Do not over grind the hemp seeds, if not they will release oil.
These ladoo stay fresh for a week at room temperature and up to two weeks in the refrigerator.
