Choose a domain name (blog name)
Domain name is your blog name. Mine is, http://www.madhuseverydayindian.com. You can pick your own name or a name which is relevant with your niche. I would recommend picking few names, just in case you first choice is not available. Make the list and keep it on the side. We will need it in the next few minutes.
Now head over to bluehost.com to start the sign up process.
Pick Hosting Company –
The hosting company provides a space for you to use in the internet. Though there are a number of hosting companies, I personally recommend Bluehost. Bluehost is the best option for new bloggers becuase they are very affordable. Bluehost is the same hosting company my website is built on. It has some great features, its reliable and incredibly affordable.
Here are some of the great features of bluehost:
Free Domain: The blog name you selected, you get it for free with bluehost for one year.
SSL certificate for free: it’s a website security which comes free with bluehost.
Free WordPress : Once you sign up with bluehost, wordpress is automatically installed.
24/7 support: the customer support is amazing. You can call them anytime or do live chat for support.
Now that we know all the wonderful features of bluehost, let’s select the plan
Choose the blogging plan:
While picking the blogging plan, I would pick the basic plan, it includes one website and a domain. Once you build your website and increase yourtraffic, you can always upgrade to plus or prime plan .
Click select and that will take you to the next set up of picking the domain name.
Choose your Domain Name:
This is where you check if the name you selected for your website is available.
Type your new domain name and click next.
Provide your contact information and create an account
Package information –
In the account plan, you can choose between 12, 24 or 36 months plan. Select the 36 months option to get the best deal. If you choose to buy for 3 years, the price gets better. The minimum term is 12 months and you pay the free upfront. This also provides the free domain for your website for a year.
When it comes to the other add ons, I would recommend getting the domain privacy protection. It protects your personal info like phone number and address from being displayed to the public.
Now that you have the account plan and domain privacy protection selected, head to make the payment-
Enter your credit card information and press submit.
Congratulations! You just created your Blue host account.
Now lets pick a secure password. This will be the password you will be using to login to bluehost account.
You will also receive the login credentials to the email address you provided in the account information section.
After you create the pasword for bluehost, you will be directed to create a password for word press.
In the next step, you will see that you successfully created a new password.
Instal WordPress (for free) & Choose a Theme-
Once you log in to the bluehost account, wordpress is installed automatically. Bluehost makes it easy by auto installing the wordpress.
The next step is to choose a theme for your website. Bluehost gives you an option to pick a free word press theme. To start off, you can temporarily pick a free theme. You can always change to a paid one in the future. But if you want to take blogging seriously, I would recommend getting a paid theme which comes with great options to build your website.
