As a part of Navratri Day 5 neivedyam  i made Green moong dal Sundal for Goddess Lakshmi.

Recipe:
  • Green moong dal- 1 cup ( soak the dal over night)
  • Green chilly- 3 slit
  • Fresh coconut- 2 tsps
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander for garnish and
  • tempering ingredients
Cook the soaked green moong dal with ½ tsp of salt in a pressure cooker.  After its cooked  drain the water.
In a pan do the tempering by adding 2 tsps of oil, followed by ½ tsp of mustard seeds. When the mustard starts popping, add ½ tsp each of Chana dal and cumin seeds.  Fry for few seconds, then add the green chilly, curry leaves, ⅛th tsp of turmeric powder and few generous pinches of hing.

Fry for few more seconds, then add the green moong dal, necessary salt, coconut and lemon juice.  Mix and let it cook for just five more minutes. Turn off the stove.

Serve as Neivedyam.
