Pistachio Coconut Ladoo are chewy, tasty and easy to make. A perfect make ahead dessert for Diwali or any celebration.

This ladoo recipe is very similar to my Coconut Ladoo with Condensed Milk, but with the addition of pistachio.

Desiccated Coconut is one of my favorite ingredient to use in Indian desserts. Here are few of them – Instant Coconut Burfi, Carrot Ladoo, and Nuts & Coconut Jaggery Ladoo

These Pistachio Coconut Ladoo

  • made with just 5 ingredients
  • stores well and perfect for gifting

Ingredients needed for Coconut Pista Ladoo

Coconut – unsweetened desiccated dry coconut, available in most grocery stores.

Pistachio – used fresh pistachio and powdered them.

Sweetened condensed milk – thick sweetened milk, is available in the bakery isle in the grocery shop.

Butter – use unsalted butter

Step by Step Method –

1 & 2 – Add ¾ th cup of pistachio in a small blender and make a fine powder. In that reserve ¼ th cup of pistachio powder, we will be using that to coat the ladoo at the end.

3 – To a wide skillet add the butter and melt it. You can also replace butter with ghee. Now add the condensed milk and mix both the ingredients.

4 – Now add the desiccated coconut and ½ cup pistachio powder.

5 – Mix it well, scrape the sides and cook the mixture till it thickens and comes together.

6 – Add the cardamom and mix it well. Take a small portion of the mixture, if you can make a ladoo with out it sticking its ready.

7 & 8 – Make round ladoo and coat it with powdered pistachio.

Yes, the proportions will be little different. Follow this coconut ladoo recipe.

Tips

Use a wide non stick skillet for easy mixing.

Use unsweetened desiccated coconut which is finely powdered.

Add cardamom powder at the end for wonderful aroma.

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cup unsweetened desiccated coconut
  • ¾ cup pistachio ( divided) ( ½ cup for ladoo + ¼ cup for rolling)
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter or substitute with ghee
  • 3 cardamom pods, finely crushed

  • Make round ladoo and coat it with powdered pistachio.

Notes

Makes 24 ladoo. Store them in an air tight container for up to 7 days.
